Style + Substance: Designing Effective Research Posters

Stand out from the conference crowd by learning how to craft a poster that succinctly and attractively describes your research project. The first hour of this workshop will cover tips on poster design and content; the second hour will function as a hands-on lab, with design consultants available to advise you on your poster design (bring your own laptop). Come for the first hour, the second hour, or both!

Two chances to attend:

  • Thursday, March 23rd, 2:00-4:00 pm, CTLB 110
  • Friday, March 24th, 9:00-11:00 am, CTLB 110

This workshop is offered in conjunction with the Graduate Resource Center. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome but subject to seating availability.

Thesis/Dissertation Manuscript Formatting Workshops

For Spring 2017, Doug Weintraub from Graduate Studies will present four Thesis/Dissertation Manuscript workshops to help graduate students understand the basic procedures to format their thesis/dissertation manuscripts, combine manuscripts and front matter into a single PDF, and meet the final degree requirement to electronically submit manuscripts to the UNM Digital Repository. Instructions for additional forms (which are necessary for the final electronic submission process with the Graduate Studies Office) will also be discussed.

No registration is necessary, but workshop space is limited to 55 participants. To prepare, please refer to the Manuscript Tutorial Modules 1, 2, and 3. These tutorials will familiarize you with the Front Matter formatting and the procedures to electronically submit the thesis/dissertation manuscript to the UNM-LoboVault repository.

Note: For Spring 2017 graduation, students must meet all degree requirements by Monday, April 17th, 5:00 PM. For information about formatting thesis/dissertation manuscripts, click here
