Position Description

The CODE study is an observational study assessing the outcomes in participants with HIV initiating the ART therapy dolutegravir. This is a 10-site study in Brazil that will begin enrollment this fall. We are seeking a student fluent in Brazilian Portuguese who is available for 10 hours per week as a Project Assistant. This position does not include tuition. Please note that currently, all meetings are held via Zoom and all work will be performed remotely.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Translate documents from English to Portuguese and from Portuguese to English
  • Assist in communication with Brazilian site staff about study-related items
  • Learn how to use REDCap for study data capture and perform quality control checks on data entered into that system
  • Perform assorted administrative duties including assistance with writing and formatting documents, scheduling meetings, attending project meetings and taking minutes, etc.
  • Potential for performing data analysis and contributing to publications and presentations

Requirements Qualifications

  • Fluent in Brazilian Portuguese
  • As a graduate student, be eligible to hold a Project Assistantship per Graduate Studies/UNM guidelines
  • Available for team meetings
  • Willing to work a regular schedule (that can be negotiated)
  • Responsive to email

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have an interest in public health, medical, or social science research
  • Familiarity with the conduct of research
