Application Instructions
The following information is provided to help the prospective student successfully apply for admission to the Art Studio Confluence Low-Residency graduate program at the University of New Mexico. Program of Interest | Select: College of Fine Arts > Department of Art > Art Studio >> MFA Art Studio (Low-Residency). Your application will be reviewed primarily based on your first selected area of interest. After the first area review, it may be reviewed by the secondary area of interest. |
Letter of Intent | Required. A letter to the studio faculty, 1-3 pages, including a brief introduction of yourself, a clear statement of the goals or objectives that you wish to accomplish in your graduate study, a brief statement about why you want to study at UNM, and anything significant you think we should know about you. Please see the program's guidelines. |
Writing Sample | Artist statement, no longer than one page. This should be a clear, concise statement of your artistic practice, including your intent, conceptual framework, methods, and/or materials. Please see the program's guidelines. |
CV/Resume | Required. No special instructions. |
Special Requirements | Digital portfolio of 15-20 images of your best work. Upload a single high resolution PDF containing the full set of your images. Include the title, dimensions, date, and medium below each image. |
Video/Audio Link | Optional. Provide links to any videos that are part of your portfolio. Please ensure all links are functional before submitting your application. Please use Youtube or Vimeo for video hosting. |
Recommendations | Three (3) letters of recommendation are required. |
