Application Instructions
The following information is provided to help the prospective student successfully apply for admission to the Electrical Engineering MS and PhD graduate programs at the University of New Mexico. Test Scores | GRE scores are required and should be submitted to the University directly by ETS (Institution code: 4845; no department code needed). Scores should also be reported in the online application. English proficiency test results, such as the TOEFL or IELTS, are required by the University for all international applicants. Further details and the minimum score requirements can be found on the UNM Global Education Office website. |
Letter of Intent | Please give a brief statement regarding your motivation for acquiring an advanced degree, work or research experience, and if any, interest in or contact with an ECE faculty member |
CV/Resume | No special instructions. |
Special Requirements | International published papers in peer-reviewed conference proceedings or journals may be uploaded here (optional). |
Assistantships | Assistantships are limited and selection process is very competitive. Please submit a short paragraph stating your ability to be self-supporting or financial need, and if any, experience with teaching undergraduate level courses. |
Recommendations | Three (3) letters of recommendation are required from professional references such as instructors and supervisors, not friends or relatives. Applicants are only expected to enter names and email addresses of their providers. The system will automatically send messages to the providers prompting them to submit letters online through the application system. |
