APPLICATION CATEGORY | SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS |
Program of Interest | College of Fine Arts > Music > Music > GCERT Music Performance |
Letter of Intent | Submit a statement of your experiences and goals and why you want to be a student at UNM. The Letter of Intent must be in prose, not resume style. If you already know the name of the faculty member with whom you wish to study, please include that information in your letter. |
Writing Sample | Please refer to the Department of Music website for a list of supplemental materials required for any assistantship that you are applying for (if you want to be considered for ANY available assistantship, we recommend that you submit a writing sample). You may also use this section to upload documents that will not fit elsewhere in the application— repertory list, undergraduate recital programs, research papers, composition scores, essays, etc. If there are not enough places to upload all your documents, try combining some of them into one file. You may also upload materials (esp. audio & video files) in the Special Requirements or Video/Audio Link sections of the application. |
CV/Resume | Please upload a current CV or resume. |
Special Requirements | You may upload additional materials here if there was not enough space in the “Writing Sample” section. |
Video/Audio Link | Please refer to the Department of Music website for submission requirements for your particular instrument. Please do not upload a video to the application. Please upload it to a site like YouTube and send the link. |
Assistantship Interest | If you wish to be considered for a Department of Music scholarship or assistantship, upload the "Graduate Financial Aid Application Form" here. The form is downloadable from the department website; if you type into the .doc format version, be sure to convert it to .pdf format before uploading it. Submit any other assistantship application materials in the Writing Sample, CV/Resume, or Special Requirements section of the application. |
Recommendations | Three (3) letters of recommendation are required through the online application system. Please do NOT have your recommenders submit their letters offline, as this will delay the application process. If your recommenders have questions, please assure them that letters submitted online will remain confidential as long as you waive the right to see them. We highly recommend that you waive your right of access to your letters of recommendation. |
