The following information is provided to help the prospective student successfully apply for admission to the Organization, Information, and Learning Sciences (PhD) graduate program at the University of New Mexico. |Educational Background||You may submit unofficial transcripts to apply, but the Office of Admissions will require official transcripts for their administrative purposes.|
|Program of Interest||Select: University Libraries and Learning Sciences > Organization/Information/Learning Sciences > PhD Organization/Information/Learning Sciences|
|Letter of Intent||The letter of intent must detail the reasons for requesting admission to the Doctoral program, including a summary of future professional plans and why the OILS Doctoral degree is necessary for the accomplishment of these plans. The letter should also include a full description of past academic and professional accomplishments and relevant experience. Any additional information which can be supplied will add to the evaluators' review.|
|Writing Sample||Two recent samples of professional or scholarly writing by the applicant are required.|
|CV/Resume||Please upload a current resume providing a summary of the applicant's experience and how this experience relates to the proposed doctoral study in OILS. Publications, memberships in professional organizations, and speaking engagements are examples.|
|Assistantship Interest||Applicants should designate their interest in an assistantship as well as list their research experience and background.|
|Recommendations||Three (3) letters of recommendation are required. They should be from persons familiar with your academic ability and potential for doctoral-level work. Emails of the references will be required in the online application, and they will be informed to upload the recommendation letters directly to the system. *Faculty advisors in the OILS department are not allowed to submit letters of recommendation on any students behalf.|
