The following information is provided to help the prospective student successfully apply for admission to the Optical Science and Engineering (MS and PhD) graduate programs at the University of New Mexico. Test Scores | The General GRE is required. The subject (physics) test is encouraged but cannot replace the General GRE. The institution code is 4845. TOEFL, IELTC, or Cambridge CPE or CAE is also required for international applicants. Students who have received a bachelor's or graduate degree from an accredited institution in the United States, English-speaking Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand are exempt from submitting TOEFL scores.
