Guidelines for Proposed Graduation List
Proposed Graduation List Form (PDF)
Please upload the completed form in the Proposed Graduation List Portal.
This form is only submitted by departments; students who wish to add their name to the graduation list must contact their program.
For questions, please contact Heidi Krupicka (hkrupick@unm.edu, 505-277-1578).
Guidelines:
Every program is responsible for submitting a list of students who intend to graduate each term. The Proposed Graduation List is due at GS on the last day of the term immediately preceding the graduation term. Use the following format:
- The list should be typed.
- All fields are required; fill in completely.
- If this form is being submitted to ammend a previously submitted graduation list, please ensure that all previously submitted names are listed and that any additions or deletions are indicated in the right-most column (+/-). Additions are accepted through the first Friday of the term without petition, if an initial list was submitted by the stated deadline.
- The full name of the degree and concentration (if applicable) must be typed on the form.
Eligibility:
Students identified as potential graduates for a specific term must meet the following eligibility requirements.
- POS and/or AC forms must be received by Graduate Studies no later than the last day of the term before the student intends to graduate. If an initial POS or AC is not received by this deadline, a petition to the Dean of Graduate studies is required. Graduate Studies may request revisions to the student's POS or AC forms. Revised AC or POS forms must be in the Graduate Studies queue no later than the associated deadline of the student's intended graduation semester: November 1 for Fall graduation, April 1 for spring graduation, and July 1 for summer graduation.
Checking the courtesy box
If there are any student requesting courtesy policy, select “Yes” if the student has completed all degree requirements on or before the last day of the prior term.
Please note that not all pending graduates qualify for courtesy policy, even if the department checked "courtesy" on its proposed graduation list. Graduate Studies checks to ensure that all degree requirements were completed on or before the last day of the prior term. If pending graduates do not qualify for courtesy, they must register for thesis/dissertation or coursework hours in their graduation term.
- Students must be in good academic standing.
Graduation Requirements:
- Grades for all courses must be posted, even if a course does not apply to the degree in question. A student whose academic record shows Incompletes (I) or not reported (NR) grades will be removed form the graduation list.
- Current term grades must be posted on the student’s transcript; and GPA must remain above 3.0.
- Students must meet University deadlines for submission of exam results, manuscripts, etc. (November 15 for Fall, April 15 for Spring and July 15 for summer)
- “Conditional Pass” on exams must be changed by the posted term deadlines
