The following information is provided to help the prospective student successfully apply for admission to the Special Education (PhD) graduate program at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Nannemann will suggest two to three other faculty with whom to talk who are an appropriate match with your professional goals and research interests. |
Educational Background | Required. Please include unofficial transcripts in the online application and submit official transcripts to UNM (transcripts from UNM excepted). |

Letter of Intent | This is your opportunity to tell the program faculty about yourself. It is recommended that you provide information about your areas of research interest, previous experience, and your goals. |
Writing Sample | A professional writing sample that reflects strong critical thinking and written communications skills with attention to grammar and composition. This sample should represent only original, single author work and reflect a topic relevant to the profession. |
CV/Resume | Provide an updated copy of your professional vita (resume). |
Special Requirements | Please complete the SPCD Doctoral Application Form and upload to the Special Requirements section in your online application. May also be added to addendum section in your online application after submission. |
Recommendations | Five (5) letters of recommendation are required from professionals who are directly familiar with your academic and professional work. |
