Application Instructions
The following information is provided to help the prospective student successfully apply for admission to the Speech-Language Pathology (MS) graduate program at the University of New Mexico. Although Graduate Studies strives to keep this information up-to-date, we still encourage you to visit the program's website to verify application instructions and required materials.

Educational Background | Unofficial transcripts must be uploaded to the online application. They must include final grades for the fall semester immediately prior to the February 1st deadline (if applicable). Official transcripts must be sent to the UNM Office of Admissions. |

Letter of Intent | In lieu of the letter of intent, please upload a completed Departmental Written Application found on the program's website (see the "Required Documents" section). |
Relevant Coursework | Applicants must complete a minimum of 12 hours of SHS coursework prior to application. If you have repeated courses we replace up to 12 credits with the higher grade. For additional information please visit the program website. |
Assistantship Interest | To be considered for ANY form of departmental financial aid, applicants must complete and upload the SHS department's financial aid form and complete a FAFSA. For additional information please visit the program website. |
Recommendations | Two letters of recommendation are required, all of which must be submitted through the online application system. At least one recommender must be a professor or clinical faculty member from a speech and hearing sciences or communication sciences disorders department. One other recommender MUST be either a professor or a clinical faculty member from any department OR a supervisor/mentor from SLP or a related field who can evaluate your clinical potential. Carefully read the program's instructions for letters of recommendation on the program website before applying. |
