GRE Requirements Across Programs

Graduate Studies supports a holistic approach to admissions criteria because we recognize that the use of the GRE as a requirement for application to graduate school is a contested practice. Most academic departments do not require the GRE and some departments do, following either their disciplinary trends or their own faculty’s decision. Thus, potential students will discover that departments or programs may require the GRE while others do not; some departments might not require the GRE for a master’s degree but will require it for the PhD; and still others will require an altogether different exam, such as the LSAT or CAS. In all cases, the decision whether to require the GRE occurs at the department or program level.

Below is a list the GRE option for all of our graduate programs. You may also refer to each program description for updated information.
