The American Association of University Women Albuquerque Scholarship

Purpose
AAUW is an organization that promotes equity and education for women and girls. The work of AAUW builds upon a century of responsible public participation at the local, state, national, and international levels. Its members are required to have a degree 2-year degree or above from an accredited college or university. One scholarship will be awarded to an Albuquerque resident who has been admitted at the University of New Mexico and demonstrates a commitment to helping women and girls through service in the community, profession, or research. It is the donor’s preference to award the scholarship to students who belong to traditionally underrepresented groups within the student’s field of study.
Application Procedures
To be considered for this award, we are asking that you submit the following:
- A short essay (2 pages maximum) telling the committee about yourself and describing your commitment to promoting equality for women and girls
- Enrolled in a graduate degree program
- Scholarly excellence (minimum 3.0 GPA) as an undergraduate
- A current CV or Resume
- An AAUW – Albuquerque Graduate Scholarship Application

Stipend
The goal of the AAUW – Albuquerque is to provide $1,000 annually or the maximum amount available in the spending account awarded on an academic year basis and paid in equal amounts for the respective fall and spring semesters.
