PNMGC in the News
June 28, 2017
The Project for New Mexico Graduates of Color (PNMGC), a support program for underrepresented students, is in the news. As the Daily Lobo reports, the Student Fee and Review board slashed PNMGC's funding by nearly 80 percent last semester. PNMGC was forced to cut back some of its offerings but continued to provide, as lead project assistant Edith Sanchez-Saenz says, "a safe space, a second home where you can belong."
This week, however, President Abdallah temporarily restored funding for the program, enabling PNMGC to continue its mission of outreach and support to minority populations at UNM.
